Family Service Agency names interim director

The Midweek - 11/15/2017

DeKALB ? A 10-year employee of Family Service Agency has been appointed acting director, according to a news release from the agency.

The release said Tynisha Clegg has replaced David Miller, who had served as executive director since 2010.

"David Miller admirably guided FSA through economically challenging times and helped develop a solid foundation for success," FSA's board Chairman, Brian Oster, said in the release. "The board is grateful for David's work and the leadership he provided during his seven years with the agency. We wish him great success in his future endeavors."

Oster said clients and community partners can rest assured that day-to-day operations won't be affected by the changing of the guard. He said FSA is forming a transition team that will pinpoint what requirements, exactly, the permanent replacement will fulfill. He said there's no specific timetable for when the agency hopes to fill the position.

"Our FSA board has been involved in a series of ongoing and lengthy discussions about the future of the agency," Oster said in the release. "While Family Service Agency is doing very good work providing the community with counseling and support services, the board has decided that the organization is ready for a new direction."

FSA is made up by four departments ? Big Brothers Big Sisters, Center for Counseling, Children's Advocacy Center and Senior Services Center.
