Facebook fundraiser to help local family

Sentinel Echo - 12/8/2017

Christmas time is considered to be the season of giving and a local company is sponsoring a Facebook auction to help two local families in need.

Laurel Grocery is the host of a Facebook online auction for four tickets to the Kentucky-Louisville basketball game on December 29, 2017 at 1 p.m. These tickets were generously donated in an effort to raise money for the families of Laurel Grocery employees Shawn Dozier and Michael Reynolds.

Angie Dozier, wife of Shawn Dozier, suffered a brain aneurysm which affected her speech processing. She is currently undergoing speech therapy and rehabilitation.

Jasper Reynolds, son of Michael Reynolds, was diagnosed with a brain tumor and started radiation treatments this week.

All proceeds from the ticket auction will be split between the two families.

These tickets are some of the best in the house - Section 31, Row DD, Seats 13-16. Row DD is actually four rows from the floor near mid-court behind the scorer's tables and near the UK bench. Similar tickets are going for over $900 for a single ticket online.

Here is the way it works:

1. Bidding for the tickets started this week at $500 for the full set of four tickets.

2. Subsequent bids must be at least $25 higher than the current high bid.

3. Bids are to be made in the comments of the post.

4. Please be sure to comment with your bid in the original post on the Laurel Grocery Facebook page and not in someone else's shared post. Bidding on shared posts will not be honored.

5. Bidding ends on Wednesday, December 13, at noon.

6. Payment is due in the form of cash at the Laurel Grocery Company Administration Building in London no later than Friday, December 15, at noon.

PayPal is also an option, however PayPal transaction must clear before tickets are picked up. If unpaid, the tickets will go to the next highest bidder.

7. Tickets will be ready for pickup at time of payment.

Everyone is eligible to bid, not just Laurel Grocery employees.
