Fundraiser for NESCO Family Health Clinic and EMS services

Nevada Journal - 4/17/2018

This Saturday, the My NESCO Health and the Zearing Betterment Committee will host a benefit cookout from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Dakins Community Center in Zearing. All proceeds will support the construction and furnishing of the Zearing Community Wellness Center, NESCO Family Medical Clinic and EMS headquarters.

The event will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, salads, desserts and drinks. The hosts will accept free-will donations, with all proceeds to benefit the project. There will also be a silent auction. Checks payable to "The City of Zearing" for the construction of the facility are tax-deductible.

The NESCO Family Health Clinic will improve the health and welfare of people living in the region by providing reliable health care that is responsive to local needs. The Wellness Center – an exercise facility – will complement the goal of the NESCO Family Health Clinic. It will offer area residents an opportunity to implement healthier life choices. In addition, the EMS facility will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the volunteer organization that provides the first means to answer calls for emergency medical services in the region.

The city of Zearing has already purchased land for the new building, situated at the west end of its Main Street. The clinic will have four exam rooms, two offices for medical providers, a nurse's station and a waiting room. With an attached Wellness Center, regional residents can pursue general fitness and engage in self-directed physical therapy without having to travel to a remote facility.
