Yakima Herald-Republic - 7/17/2018

July 16--TOPPENISH, Wash. -- Moms in the Lower Yakima Valley who are at least 28 weeks pregnant are invited to a free baby shower Wednesday, where they will get a tour of Astria Toppenish Hospital and information about health services.

Food, games and gifts also will be offered at the event where health professionals from the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic and Astria will provide information about what to expect before, during and after delivery. Topics include breast feeding, nutrition services as well as WIC (Women, Infant and Children food voucher program) and the Lower Valley Parents as Teachers group.

There will be two baby showers at Astria Toppenish Hospital at 502 W. Fourth Ave. in Toppenish; the first is from 9 to 11:30 and for English speakers, and another from 12:20 to 3 p.m. is for Spanish speakers.

"Our goal at the baby shower is to introduce moms to all the services Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic and Astria (have) to offer," said spokeswoman Jessica Johnson.
