Feedback sought on child welfare services

July 31--The Family Services Division of the North Dakota Department of Human Services is gathering input from families and professionals engaged in the child welfare system on how services and supports are provided in Barnes, Dickey, Eddy, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Logan, Stutsman and Wells counties, as well as by the Division of Juvenile Services.

Licensed foster and adoptive families and relative caregivers from the region are invited to attend a meeting to share their feedback from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at South Central Human Service Center, 520 3rd St. NW, Jamestown. Families who would like to participate but are unable to attend in person may can call Don Boehmer at 253-6403 to receive a toll-free call-in number.

The department will send emails with a survey link to parents with children in foster care and professionals who work with children and families, including caseworkers child welfare service providers, county and tribal social services staff members, juvenile court directors, judges and referees. Youths served through the foster care system will have the opportunity to comment about their experiences.
