Workshop aims to tackle mental health issue in agriculture

Nov. 18--ZUMBROTA -- The University of Minnesota Extension and Goodhue County Health and Human Services will host a workshop on mental health and farming.
"Rural stress affects everyone: from rural business owners, to farmers and their families," read a statement from the organizers.
The workshop, "Farm Stress. Mental Well-Being. Building Resilience," will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dec. 5, at the VFW in Zumbrota. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m.
Topics will include rural stressors and resources available with a goal of promoting, protecting and strengthening the health of individuals, families and communities.
The educational meeting is designed for agricultural producers and professionals who find themselves confronting various challenges as a result of the economic state of agriculture. Livestock and crop producers from all size farms and stages of life are welcome to attend.
