Some letters are toxic exhaust

Roanoke Times - 8/14/2017

In the Monday, July 24 edition of The Roanoke Times, Deborah Sampson writes that "Single-payer system is fairest" which means that government creates, operates, regulates, subsidizes and levies taxes for health care. Government has failed at flood insurance, the USPS, Amtrak, health care and other ventures. Do we need more subtractions of taxpayer extractions?

Morgaine Bergman writes about "Murder by neglect" (July 24 letter). Have we forgotten that President Obama lied about Obamacare or that advisor Jonathon Gruber mentioned "stupidity of American voters?" Have we forgotten that in 2010 House Speaker Nancy Pelosi commented that "we need to pass the bill to know what's in it" and without any Republican input? Are the writer's concerns based on fact or conjecture?

A letter entitled "Let impeachment begin" by Les Reynolds (July 24) does not mention that impeachment requires more than opinions about Russian collusion. Overlooked also are any facts about how many votes Hillary Clinton lost due to this collusion illusion.

These comments are the toxic exhaust from faulty valves in the engine that is resisting, "Make America Great Again." We should be reminded of the Ronald Reagan comment, "The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so."
