BRIEF: This off-road vehicle maker has been off the recall list. That just changed

Miami Herald - 10/18/2017

Oct. 18--Unlike spring and summer, when off-road vehicle company Polaris made more recalls than an E. coli-infested meat factory, autumn has been as quiet as a leaf falling on the recall front.

Until Tuesday.

Polaris recalled its 2014-2016 ACE 325 recreational off-highway vehicles, about 6,800 ROVs. This most recent Polaris malfunction, as explained in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice, is, "The exhaust header pipe can crack and release hot exhaust gases into the engine compartment, posing fire and burn hazards."

Problems that cause fire and burn hazards cause most Polaris recalls. No fires or injuries have been reported with this issue, but Polaris has received six cracked exhaust pipe reports, two of which included seat damage from melting.

The company is offering free repairs by authorized mechanics. To find a mechanic, click here. To schedule a repair, call Polaris at 800-765-2747 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.Monday through Friday.
