Nursing home death; Delaware beaches; whiskey lottery: Good Morning, Pennsylvania

Patriot-News - 5/3/2023

Don’t toss your butts

Veterinarians are seeing an increase in dogs who are getting ill after chewing on a particular type of trash: discarded ends of marijuana joints.

The ASPCA said marijuana poisoning cases among animals are rising nationwide, growing 300% in the past five years.

Some places – not central Pennsylvania – allow recreational pot smoking. “The reason we’re seeing so many cases is that people are using marijuana on the street and then discarding the unwanted ends of their joints,” Dr. Amy Attas, a New York City veterinarian, told the Associated Press. “And that’s a real problem because dogs will eat those.”

Littering is bad for the eye and the Earth. This is just another reason to toss your trash where it belongs.

Now, let’s take a look at this morning’s headlines.
