The TAS Switch is a touch switch designed to be activated by pressing any point on its surface for individuals with severe upper mobility disabilities. The momentary contact switch is not hinged and so its entire surface is sensitive. When pressed, the switch responds with both an auditory and tactile click so that users know contact has been made. The switch is designed to be used with battery operated devices but is not meant ot operate line-powered devices such as household appliances. Actuation pressure for the TAS switch is about 40 grams/1.5 ounce but pressure can be decreased by adjusting the activation point. The TAS switch can be mounted to surfaces by using sticky black velcro or by using the mounting holes.
