The Elan is a prosthetic foot with ankle system designed for use by individuals with lower extremity amputation. This prosthetic foot and ankle system has microprocessor controlled terrain response system that provides adaptive dorsiflexion and plantar flexion and variable response to speed changes. Sensors continuously monitor environmental feedback and the algorithm-based system changes the foot characteristics to offer the safest, most comfortable, and energy efficient configuration of the Elan on the flat or inclined surfaces and stairs. The foot response increases as incline increases . The hydraulic ankle control features silent operation and sinuous movement that biomimetically matches the Activity Level 3 user's body and walking style (users at Levels 2 or 4 require softer or stiffer springs, respectively). A footshell and glide sock are included. POWER: Uses batteries contained within ankle. OPTIONS: Dark tone. DIMENSIONS: 25 to 30 centimeters long, 5 centimeter depth. Build height is 6.69 to 6.89 inches. Heel height is 0.375 inches. CAPACITY: 275 pounds maximum user weight. WEIGHT: 2 pounds, 10 ounces (components for a 26-centimeter foot without a footshell).
