Blue Lights Show Autism Support In Braintree

The Patriot Ledger - 4/7/2020

BRAINTREE -- Blue lights are shining in the windows of town hall this month to support those who are living with autism and their families.

Mayor Charles Kokoros has signed a proclamation in declaring April as Autism Awareness Month in Braintree.

Kokoros said he is proud to serve as the mayor of such an inclusive community.

"Lighting up town hall blue for the month of April shows our community's solidarity and support for those with autism and their families," Kokoros said in a statement.

The mayor also praised the work that has been done over the past several years to further understanding and treatment of autism spectrum disorder by awareness groups in town including BANDS (Braintree Autism Network for Our Sons and Daughters) and SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council.)
