Stanley Steemer donates disinfection services to special needs gym

South Florida Sun Sentinel - 6/16/2020

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stanley Steemer of South Florida has been disinfecting schools, city buildings and fire stations.

The company recently donated its disinfecting services to the United Spectrum Center in Deerfield Beach. On June 12, the gym for children with special needs and autism received the cleaning service to help maintain necessary sanitation requirements.

“While our company has been hard at work at disinfection projects across South Florida due to the pandemic, it’s truly an honor to take the time to donate our services to organizations in need of disinfection," Stanley Steemer’s restoration manager Tommy Scalera said in a statement. "The United Spectrum Center is an amazing place that does such tremendous work and we were thrilled to help and look forward to continuing these efforts throughout South Florida.”

During the cleaning, Stanley Steemer electrostatically sprayed Vital Oxide, an EPA-approved disinfectant that has been demonstrated effective against viruses similar to COVID-19, according to the company.

The United Spectrum Center is an organization aimed at assisting individuals within the special needs community. The full-service fitness center, which also caters to individuals without special needs, is at 3845 W. Hillsboro Blvd.

“We were blown away with this kind gesture from Stanley Steemer of South Florida that they’d be willing to donate these services to disinfect our gym," Matthew Rosenberg, the center’s owner, said in a statement. "It’s so important for our clients and staff to have the peace of mind that Stanley Steemer was here providing us the most advanced form of disinfection.”
