Eugene man, 21, accused of raping child

A 21-year-old Eugene man has been charged with raping a child.

Michael Peter Anderson was charged in Lane County Circuit Court on Tuesday with second-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree sodomy. Each of the charges are Measure 11 offenses that carry mandatory minimum sentences of six years, three months each.

Eugene police arrested Anderson on Monday. Police spokesman John Hankemeier said the charges relate to multiple incidents involving a juvenile victim who is known to Anderson.
