Jacksonville private school teacher arrested in sexual-abuse case involving a student

An investigation into a sexual abuse incident at a private school has led to the arrest of a 70-year-old teacher, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.
The Sheriff's Office said it is trying to determine if there are any other victims.
James Rankin Johnson was charged Feb. 11 with lewd molestation and offenses against a student by an authority figure and remains jailed on $250,000 bail, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The investigation began with a Feb. 9 tip that led to Johnson. The Sheriff's Office said it cannot identify the school because the charge is a sex crime.
