Pa. man accused of giving genital herpes to girl, 5, while molesting her

A 5-year-old girl has been condemned to a lifetime of genital herpes. The man accused of giving it to her while molesting her has been arrested and jailed, police say.

The suspect is Bryan Nee, 31, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., who faces charges of rape of a child, indecent assault of a child, corruption of a minor and unlawful contact with a minor. This, according to the Citizens Voice, which adds:

The arrest comes after the 5-year-old girl was diagnosed with genital herpes, helping prompt a police complaint lodged in December 2021 by Luzerne County Children and Youth Services.

Ultimately, the girl told investigators he made her touch him while bathing. The girl told police Nee told her it was “OK” for her to touch him, but that she needed to keep it a secret, police said.

Background from the Citizens Voice:

The girl was diagnosed with genital herpes back in Dec. 2020, but authorities initially thought transmission was inadvertent. That is until the girl finally began to reveal her “secret.”

Nee was arraigned on the charges last week and lodged at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, where at last report he had yet to post bail set at $25,000

Nee faces a preliminary hearing in the case set for Jan. 26.
