Convicted Pa. sex abuser indicted on child pornography charges

Patriot-News - 5/18/2022

A York County man convicted of child sex abuse charges more than a decade ago was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday on child pornography possession charges, according to the Department of Justice.

42-year-old Jonathan Lee Debus, of Dover, is charged with possession and receiving explicit materials involving children under the age of 12, the DOJ said. The indictment states that he received the pornography between Oct. 1, 2021, and May 12, 2022.

Investigators say these crimes were committed after Debus was convicted of unlawful contact with minors and statutory sexual assault in York County.

Megan’s Law sex offender registry records show that the assault happened in 2008 and that he was convicted in January 2010.

The York Dispatch reports that the conviction stemmed from a no-contest plea in which Debus did not admit guilt. At the time, he was sentenced to one and a half to five years in prison in the case.
