Antioch sex offender gets nearly six years in federal prison for receiving child pornography

San Jose Mercury News - 7/30/2022

OAKLAND — An Antioch resident was sentenced to five years and 10 months in federal prison for receiving child pornography found during a parole search of his home, court records show.

Amekka Emmanuel Akudinobi, 29, pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers at the same June court hearing. He has been in custody since the charges were filed in January 2021, records show.

According to authorities, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation conducted a parole search of Akudinobi’s Antioch home and found evidence he was visiting a Russian website that included child pornography, and had screen-recorded hundreds of videos. These included “graphic videos depicting the sexual abuse…of very young children,” prosecutors said in court records.

Akudinobi was a registered sex offender due to two child pornography convictions from 2017 in Baltimore, court records show.
