Harrisburg man raped woman having a seizure, threatened her children: police

Patriot-News - 3/31/2023

A Harrisburg man was arrested Thursday for repeatedly breaking into a city home, abusing a woman and her children and threatening to kill them if they called 911, police said in court documents.

Yeury A. Jimenez-Sanchez, 28, inflicted the abuse from 2021 until August 2022, when Harrisburg police arrested him while responding to a call about a domestic disturbance on the 400 block of South 15th Street, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

The woman Jimenez-Sanchez is accused of abusing told police he broke her home’s doors and windows multiple times to assault her. Jimenez-Sanchez sometimes abused the woman in front of her children, according to the affidavit.

Jimenez-Sanchez held the woman’s hands behind her back and forced her to perform sex acts, and sexually assaulted her while she was having a seizure, the affidavit said.

Court documents said one of the woman’s daughters tried to call the police to help her mother, but Jimenez-Sanchez pointed a gun at the family and told them he would kill them if they called for help. The affidavit said Jimenez-Sanchez also punched one of the girls in the face.

On two different occasions, Jimenez-Sanchez went into one of the daughters’ rooms, inappropriately touched her, and said “she had a better body than her mom,” the affidavit said. Jimenez-Sanchez was 27 at the time, and the girl was under 13, according to court documents.

Jimenez-Sanchez was arrested Thursday on charges of rape, assault, endangering the welfare of children, burglary, and a number of related offenses.

Bail was set at $500,000 because of the violent nature of the allegations, and because “the victims in this case are terrified of [Jimenez-Sanchez]”, according to court documents.

Online court records show Jimenez-Sanchez was unable to post bail and is being held at the Dauphin County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 10 in front of Magisterial District Judge David O’Leary.

Harrisburg police are asking anyone with information relevant to this investigation to call 717-558-6900, or submit a tip through CrimeWatch.
