MyoBoy, model 757M11, is an assessment and training system designed for use by individuals with upper extremity amputation who are being fitted for an Otto Bock myoelectric prosthetic hand (see entry). The system enables a prosthetist to conduct realistic tests of muscle tension and gather data that can be used to adjust the electrodes on the myoelectric hand. The system documents the individual's muscle signal strength so the prosthetist can track results and print data sheets. The included MyoSoft software CD has a muscle training and exercise game program that helps the individual to learn the needed contraction of each muscle group. The system consists of a hardware unit, a USB cable, a grounding cable, a MyoSoft software CD, a USB driver CD, a carrying case, an electrode adapter, an electrode wristband, a screwdriver, and an instruction guide and user‘s manual. OPTIONS: Test adapter, model 757P23, allowing the MyoBoy hardware to be connected directly to the individual's prosthesis in use so malfunctions can be found and removed. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 98, ME, 2000 with Service Pack 3, or XP with Service Pack 1 operating system; Pentium 500 megaHertz (MHz) processor; 64 megabytes (MB) RAM; 1 free serial or USB port; 15 MB free hard disk space.
