The Head Mounted Sip/Puff Switch is a pneumatic switch designed for use by individuals with upper extremity, neurological, or severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. The Sip/Puff Switch is a head mounted accessory used to actuate a two-position switch by a simple sip or puff. It can be used directly with the HeadMouse Extreme (see entry), connected to the Wireless Switch Transmitter (see entry), or used with any switch-activated device, such as environmental control systems, communication devices, adapted toys and emergency call systems. The device consists of an adjustable head frame with an attached mouth tube and a switch box connected to the head frame by a second plastic tube. The switch box converts sip and puff to electrical closures. The switch closures are accessed by connecting the device to be operated to the box using the included cables and integral 1/8-inch microphone connectors. The package includes the adjustable padded head frame with mouth tube, head frame tube with pneumatic connector, three switch cables with male microphone connectors, three replacement mouth tubes, and an instruction sheet. All tubing is replaceable and Latex-free. Two integrated pressure switches located on the label enable a caregiver or attendant to activate the device. OPTIONS: Replacement mout tubes. DIMENSIONS: The pneumatic tube with connector is 6 feet long; the switch cables are 5 feet long.
