Developing Parenting Skills' offers practical guides for new parents

Jackson Advocate - 9/2/2021

Margaret Williams has been in the childcare industry her whole life. As soon as she was able, she assisted her mother's daycare business and eventually operated her own business - Miss Margaret's Daycare.

"My vision was to present a loving, clean, caring, safe, healthy, learning, and fun environment for kids to be a part of," Williams explained. "I wanted to help parents, especially first time parents, understand how to parent their children just like my mom."

"Developing Parenting Skills to Produce Good Habits" offers a variety of guidelines and advice broken up by age group along the child's development. Some of these sections include hygiene for babies as well as building communication skills and eating habits.

Williams attended Alcorn State University and is also a Bible-school graduate, licensed and ordained minister, teacher, and counselor. A proudly devoted mother and grandmother, Williams has worked with children for many years in various capacities, including the roles of volunteer, provider, and owner/operator of her own home daycare. Her years of experience and God-given wisdom gives her unique insight and a distinctive approach to instruct and nurture the children and help the parents.
