Information on Air Canada traveller with COVID-19 updated

The Brandon Sun - 7/4/2020

Manitoba public health officials have issued updated information regarding a traveller diagnosed with COVID-19 who flew on Air Canada last month.

The individual was a passenger on Air Canada flight AC 295 from Winnipeg to Vancouver on June 19, not on June 18 as previously reported. Affected rows on that flight are rows 19 to 25.

In addition, people in rows 31 to 37 on flight AC 122 from Vancouver to Toronto on June 21 are considered a close contact and are at risk of exposure.

Individuals in the affected rows are advised to self-isolate for 14 days following the flight and monitor for symptoms. Passengers on this flight, but not in the affected seats, should self-monitor for symptoms. If symptoms develop, people should self-isolate and get tested.

Meanwhile, no new cases of COVID-19 were identified as of 9:30 a.m. Friday.

As a result, the total number of lab-confirmed positive and probable positive cases in Manitoba remains at 325.

No one is currently being treated in hospital for the virus.

There are 16 active cases and 302 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Manitoba.

An additional 641 laboratory tests were performed Thursday, bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 64,968.
