There's another chicken salad recall. Walmart has issued a list of stores involved

Miami Herald - 9/22/2020

Sep. 22--A packaging mistake that could lead to serious health issues for some consumers has about 7,350 containers of chicken salad on the recall list.

The recalled 15-ounce containers say they contain Willow Tree Premium White Meat Chicken Salad Classic. They might contain Willow Tree Premium White Meat Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad. Inside a container whose label says the only allergen is egg sits chicken salad with egg and walnut.

Beyond annoying those who were in the mood for regular chicken salad and not a berry and nutty variation, this is a potentially serious problem to those with walnut allergies. And the USDA recall notice says it was a customer griping about walnuts and cranberries in regular chicken salad that alerted Willow Tree Farms to the problem.

The recalled containers have a best-by date of 9/30/2020, are time stamped 13:00:00 through 17:00:00 and have "EST-P8827" inside the USDA inspection mark.

Walmart has issued a three-page list of stores that sold the recalled chicken salad. The recall notice says the recalled salad went to stores in Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia.

Those with questions about the recall can contact Willow Tree Poultry Farm general manager Alex Cekala via email at ACekala@willowtreefarm.com or by phone, 508-951-8351.
