Coronavirus: California reported 21 new deaths but 13 fewer hospitalizations as of May 10

May 11—In California, 2,152 new cases of the coronavirus were reported, according to Monday's end-of-day totals on public health websites, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,733,657.

The daily average of new cases over the last 14 days was at 1,822.

There were 21 new deaths reported statewide Monday, for a total of 61,973 people who have died from COVID-19.

The state reported 13 fewer hospitalizations from the previous day, decreasing the total hospitalizations of those infected with the coronavirus to 1,843.

According to the California Department of Public Health, 32.2 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 35.5% of residents are now fully vaccinated.
