Ontario County Public Health: 23 new COVID-19 cases Thursday

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 23 new COVID-19 community cases as of 1 p.m.Sept. 2.

Of the new cases, nine people were fully vaccinated, and a few others were only partially vaccinated, health officials said.

Since the start of the pandemic, 8,036 cases have been reported; 113 people have died and 7,712 have recovered.

Ontario County remains in the High category for transmission, which is the highest level, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Ontario County Public Health is announcing Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine clinics, three of which will be held at the Ontario County Highway Department, 2930 County Road 48.

A first-dose and third-dose, drive-through Moderna clinic is planned for 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8.

The first is for anyone 18 and older. Register at shorturl.at/fANS0.

The third-dose clinic is for moderately to severely immunosuppressed people age 18 or older, whose second dose of Moderna was at least 28 days prior to (Aug. 11 or before). Register at shorturl.at/gnouS.

Also, a drive-through, third-dose additional dose Pfizer clinic is planned at the same time, Sept. 8. This is for moderately to severely immunosuppressed people age 12 or older, whose second dose of Pfizer was at least 28 days prior to Sept. 8 (Aug. 11 or before). Register at shorturl.at/kpvJO.

A first-dose Pfizer clinic is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Boys and Girls Club, 160 Carter Road, Geneva. This is for anyone 12 years of age or older. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or bring a signed consent form with them on clinic day.
