Ontario County Public Health: 24 new COVID-19 cases Sept. 7

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 24 new COVID-19 community cases Sept. 7.

All of the people were over 7 years old, and only six cases were fully vaccinated against COVID-19, health officials said Tuesday.

Since the start of the pandemic, 8,133 cases have been reported and with one person dying Monday, 114 deaths have also been reported; 7,851 people have recovered.

Ontario County Public Health is reporting 179 new COVID-19 cases the week of Aug. 31 to Sept. 6, which is an increase of nine from the 170 cases reported Aug. 24 to Aug. 30.

Ontario County remains in the High category for transmission, which is the highest level, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
