Ontario County Public Health: 54 new COVID-19 cases reported Sept. 15

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 54 COVID-19 community cases Sept. 15.

They range in age from under 1 to over 90 years old, health officials said. Cases were from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, several household cases, an assisted living center and daycare cases.

Since the start of the pandemic, 8,377 cases have been reported; 114 people have died and 8,055 people have recovered.

Ontario County remains in the High category for transmission, which is the highest level, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Ontario County Public Health also is announcing upcoming COVID-19 vaccine clinics.

A first-, second- and third-dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine clinic for ages 12 and older is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m.Sept. 27 at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva.

The third dose is only for people who are immune-compromised.

Visitors who receive a first dose at this clinic may need to get the second dose at a local pharmacy in 21 days. Those receiving a second dose must have waited 21 days after receiving the first dose.

Another first- or second-dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine clinic for ages 12 and older is scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m.Sept. 29 at the Ontario County Highway Office, 2930 County Road 48.
