Coronavirus update, Nov. 27: Stanislaus reports zero deaths, 218 cases over holiday

Nov. 27—Stanislaus County reported zero deaths to COVID-19 and 218 new cases in an update that included Thanksgiving and Friday.

A total of 1,413 residents have died from the virus since April 2020, the Health Services Agency said. Stanislaus has 81,192 cases, 1,014,200 negative test results and 78,617 people who are presumed recovered.

Other details:

Hospital cases: The county's five hospitals had 88 patients with confirmed COVID-19 on Friday, up one from Thursday. Adults in intensive care dropped by three to 19.

Positivity rates: On the state dashboard Friday, where numbers reflect the previous day, the seven-day positivity rate was 5.4%, holding relatively steady in the last few days and a decrease of 0.4% from the prior seven days. The rolling seven-day rate a month ago was about 7.6%.

Vaccines: As of Friday, 90.9% of county residents 12 and older had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 64.3% were fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The age limit is now down to 5, but data on this younger group is not yet available.

The county has public vaccine clinics that each offer all three types: Pfizer (5 and older), Moderna (18+) and Johnson & Johnson (18+). The schedule through Dec. 11:

California has administered 58,715,000 vaccine doses as of Friday, according to the CDC tracker. The state ranks 11th in the country, with 148,600 doses per 100,000 residents. Vermont ranks first, West Virginia 50th among the states.
