More than 38,000 Healthy Choice Power Bowls have been recalled nationwide. Here’s why

Miami Herald - 9/18/2022

The food in the box isn’t the same as the food on the box, a potentially serious problem that caused about 38,160 Healthy Choice Power Bowls with Korean-Style Beef to be recalled by manufacturer Valley International Cold Storage Acquisition.

According to the USDA’s recall notice, Valley International told the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service about getting consumer complaints that the Korean-Style Beef bowls had a product with chicken sausage and peppers.

That’s a food allergy problem because what’s supposed to be in the box didn’t have milk, so the only allergens listed are sesame, soy and wheat. But what’s actually in the box does have milk. People with milk allergies eating this can suffer the most serious of consequences.

What’s recalled are the Healthy Choice Power Bowls with Korean Style Beef, lot No. 5246220320 and a best by date of 04-18-2023.

If you have this and no one with a milk allergy might eat it, carry on as normal. But, if there is the chance someone with a milk allergy can eat it, throw it out or return it to the store for a full refund.

If you have questions about this recall, phone Conagra at 800-672-8152.
