Sep. 30—Off-site flu, COVID vaccine clinic coming
—Allen County Public Health will host an influenza and COVID-19 vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays at Clock Tower Plaza, 927 N. Cable Road, Lima, in suites 195 and 200. The clinic will operate out of the plaza from Monday, Oct. 3 through Friday, Dec. 30, offering updated COVID boosters and flu shots.
—The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday lowered its COVID-19 exposure risk for Allen and Hardin counties back to medium. Counties have seen their risk levels fluctuate from medium to high for several weeks now.
There were an estimated 15.2 new hospital admissions per 100,000 people in Allen County in the last seven days, an increase from the previous week. Patients with COVID-19 illness also declined in the last week, occupying 2.8% of staffed hospital beds, according to the CDC.
Auglaize, Putnam and Van Wert counties were also rated as medium risk by the CDC on Thursday.
—There were four additional deaths attributed to COVID-19 reported in the five-county region in the last seven days, according to the Ohio Department of Health. Two of those deaths were recorded in Allen County, while the other two were reported in Hardin and Van Wert counties.
