The USB-UIRT is a computer input interface designed for use by individuals with mobility or severe physical disabilities. This infrared (IR) receiver and transmitter connect to a computer through a USB port. Together with a software package like Girder (not included), this unit allows the computer to be controlled by any infrard remote control, such as a TV remote, with a reception range of eight meters. The unit can also send infrared signals to control audio/video equipment, such as a DVD player, TV, amplifier, or projector. Other features include USB wake-from-standby capability; full compatibility with Girder and NetRemote software; and a built-in wideband IR detector for accurate learning, including carrier frequency. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows XP, 2000, 98/ME, Vista, or Windows 7 operating system. OPTIONS: 56KHz IR receiver.
