Chicago Tribune - 3/22/2018
March 22--A West Side man has been charged with sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman on the ramp of the Cicero Blue Line stop in Lawndale late last year, according to Chicago police.
Jesse Winford, 29, was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with felony counts of criminal sexual abuse and aggravated battery in a public place.
The woman told police she was walking on the ramp to the platform at 720 S. Cicero Ave. around 8:20 a.m. on Dec. 6 when a man followed her, yelled at her, then grabbed her from behind, police said.
Police distributed a surveillance photo and a CTA employee spotted Winford on the platform of the Kedzie-Homan Blue Line stop.
Officers responded and took Winford into custody, police said. The woman identified Winford from a photo array.
Winford lives in the 2700 block of West Harrison Street, about 2 1/2 miles from the attack and half a mile from where he was arrested.
He was scheduled to appear in Central Bond Court on Thursday.
